Geoel lost the first round but then won out. Garpo lost the sixth round to Geoel and drew the last round with Glynneth. Ritold also won seven rounds. None of the top six pairs lost a round to anyone in the lower half of the field. Best comeback of the day was Study's after losing rounds 2-6; biggest fade was Jonj's; they won the first five rounds and then lost the rest.

After a close slam on Board 1 that usually went down but made twice on defensive erros, there was a slam bid and made on Board 12 by a quite different error. There were multiple hands on which almost every table played the same contract. The good slam on Board 4 was never bid, mostly I think because East took a practical matchpoint approach to the auction.
