This app was created through close collaboration with the and field testing with several Ministries of Health and HISP groups, and has been developed jointly between HISP Vietnam and . It uses the international form of medical certificate of cause of death as its basis along with the ICD-11 coding system to codify deaths. It does this through the use of the DORIS (WHO Digital Open Rule Integrated Cause of Death Selection) API, allowing you to directly code your causes of death directly in DHIS2.

  • Customizable data entry: Start with the international form of medical certificate of cause of death as your baseline, and add sections or data elements as needed.
  • Full access to the ICD-11 coding system: This includes looking up each of the codes, viewing their chapters, and seeing their full definitions.
  • Use of the digital mortality rule engine: This allows you to use DORIS to automate the selection of your underlying cause of death.
  • Cause of death certificate generation: Generate a customized certificate for sharing death details.
  • Export to ANACoD3: Full export to ANACoD3 is available, allowing you to perform detailed analysis on your data.

Share Your Insights: Impact of Reduced Support on Digital and Data Systems for Health

开云体育

Dear Colleagues,

Apologies for cross posting.

Share Your Insights: Impact of Reduced Support on Digital and Data Systems for Health?

We invite professionals working in data and digital information systems for health to complete the Data and Digital Health Systems Impact Assessment Survey. This rapid assessment aims to map and evaluate the effects of reduced financial and technical support to digital and data information systems to health systems, the health workforce, and patient populations, particularly in countries pursuing the Global Strategy on Digital Health.?

Why This Matters?

Recent shifts in donor priorities and funding reductions have placed critical digital health infrastructure, workforce capacity, and essential support systems at risk, affecting healthcare delivery in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Digital and data systems are foundational to health service delivery, decision-making, and patient care, and any disruption can have far-reaching consequences.?

This brief, emergency survey is designed to capture the collective impact of these budget reductions on governments, development partners, civil society organizations, and others. The findings will help inform opportunities for a coordinated response through networks such as the Global Initiative on Digital Health to safeguard digital health systems and mitigate risks to data continuity, health services, and beneficiary populations.?

Your Input is Critical?

Your participation will help quantify the scale of impact and to inform urgent policy and funding discussions. WHO is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all responses—data will be aggregated and anonymized to ensure privacy.?

? Contribute your Experiences into the Survey Now:? ?

Also Please share with others!?

? Have Questions? Contact us at digitalHealth@...?

Please share this widely within your professional networks to ensure we gather a comprehensive picture of the changes experienced and challenges faced. Your experiences matter for safeguarding, reestablishing, and shaping the future of digital health systems.?

Thank you,?

From the GDHN Co-Chairs - A Letter to the Global Digital Health Community

GDHN logo.png

?

Dear GDHN Members,

?

We hope this message finds you well.

?

As we are all aware, the recent executive orders and policy shifts under the current U.S. administration have had significant implications for global health programs, particularly in the areas of funding, implementation, and sustainability. These changes have presented challenges for many of our partner organizations and countries that rely on international aid to support essential health initiatives including digital health.

?

Despite these challenges, this moment also presents an opportunity for countries and organizations to come together, strengthen regional collaborations, and explore innovative, sustainable solutions that reduce dependency on external aid. As the global digital health community, we have a shared responsibility to identify new pathways forward—leveraging local expertise, mobilizing domestic resources, and fostering stronger partnerships.

?

We recommend following? and , which?includes curated resources for coaching, networking opportunities, job boards, and LinkedIn profiles to follow for job opportunities.

?

We recognize that navigating this evolving landscape can be complex, and we want to reaffirm our commitment to supporting GDHN members through dialogue, resource sharing, and collective problem-solving.

?

In the coming months, we are available to facilitate discussions on how best to adapt in such time - we will be beginning our monthly GDHN webinars soon that?will seek to address the?current digital health landscape.

?

We welcome your thoughts, experiences, and strategies as we work together to address these challenges. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any insights or to join upcoming discussions.

Thank you for your dedication and resilience in advancing global health.
