I'd like to personally invite you to apply for the?, held from June 16 to July 4, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. I run this workshop through the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs alongside a distinguished faculty of public health, policy and development experts.

?

Throughout the three-week workshop, participants will develop a scalable communication campaign to address a global health or development challenge while also exploring their own personal potential for making a positive impact in the world. Previous cohort campaigns have ranged from advocating for improved access for African Americans to mental health and addiction services in the city of Baltimore, to using social media influencers to encourage young people from rural Georgia to change their eating habits to prevent heart disease, to a concept designed to help people in Puerto Rico, where alcohol use disorders are prevalent, think about slowing consumption down and keeping alcohol away from?children.

The communication framework used throughout the course has been used to develop communication strategies for more than 30 years but has been updated to incorporate lessons learned and to acknowledge the real-time, dynamic nature of the strategic process as well as new technologies and the constantly changing nature of communication, social norms and individual behavior and decision-making. The workshop draws from many disciplines, including design theory, behavioral economics, social psychology and anthropology.
