Re: SDR with LCD keypad shield

Hi Ralf

The Teensy 4 is a LOT MORE POWERFUL than the Teensy 3.1/3.2 I used, so can do an awful lot more, eg drive a high resolution display. The reason I gave up on the Teensy 3.2 SDR, was that the display I was using didn't do justice to the Spectrum Scope equivalent of the G8JCFSDR on the PC, eg Click to Tune, and I felt that the G8JCFSDR on the PC was the far better user experience and hence I felt that the standalone SDR based on the Teensy wasn't something I wanted.

I've since found that Windows laptops have fallen in price so much so that for ?100 in the UK, one can get a brand new Lenovo (ie a proper well respected main stream brand) Windows 10 laptop, 64GB disk, 4GB RAM, which can run the G8JCFSDR natively, ie the proper G8JCFSDR experience. So, my quest for a standalone G8JCFSDR is not important to me anymore - there is still the curiosity of getting the G8JCFSDR or equivalent working on the lowest cost h/w so I may revisit my Teensy efforts, but for all practical purposes, I think I'll stick with the very low cost Windows laptops available these days.

Good luck

Peter
