Hi all - I promised to keep you all up to date regarding the ' official ' maximum for cycle 24. It was originally predicted for Feb / April this year. However, the latest?predictions from Nasa Mashall Spaceflight Centre is the autumn of this year. The expected sunspot figure is 69 - this compares to ?64.5 in Feb 1906 making this the second smallest since ' modern times ' . However, some Old Timers within our ranks feel that it may already have occurred at the end of 2011. Personally I think the evidence is 50 / 50 .?

Re: AGM REMINDER 26th November
Thank you for this, Ian.
?
Just out of curiosity, why is this not coming
directly from the Secretary? The club constitution clearly states that the
Secretary is responsible for all communications, but I have seldom received any
from him.
What is the point of having members appointed to
undertake official roles within the club if others have to do their job?
Nominations for various positions should be communicated to the Secretary, so
everything is conducted officially according to the constitution, but it appears
we just do as we like! Clearly, nothing has changed; it says everything about
the current state of MYARS, doesn¡¯t it?

?
Hi all, I have started to make enquiries for a joint local area Radio Club trip, by coach to the Hamtronic Hamfest in Friedrichshafen Germany, June 28th - 30th 2013, so far I am waiting for a brochure from Sheerings Holidays, and a quote for a 48 seater coach from Buzzlines, the idea was first muted at the Hilderstone Radio Club AGM, that I attended recently, I have now contacted the secretary of the East Kent Radio Club (Herne mill), to see what interest there might be there, the net could be cast even further, I need to get somewhere near 48 persons, to keep the cost as low as possible,
It is not essential that interested parties are members of a Radio Club, I envisage that wives and partners would join also, although the event is on for three days, it is not necessary to attend on all of them, there are other places to see and visit on an around Lake Constance, and indeed I with others have taken the fast hydrofoil to Constance in Switzerland for the day, so persons not particularly interested in radio would not be disappointed.
I would be interested at this early stage in a show of hands, drop me an email or text 07850464026.
