Hi all - I promised to keep you all up to date regarding the ' official ' maximum for cycle 24. It was originally predicted for Feb / April this year. However, the latest?predictions from Nasa Mashall Spaceflight Centre is the autumn of this year. The expected sunspot figure is 69 - this compares to ?64.5 in Feb 1906 making this the second smallest since ' modern times ' . However, some Old Timers within our ranks feel that it may already have occurred at the end of 2011. Personally I think the evidence is 50 / 50 .?
