'Fort Bridgewoods' book signing in Rochester.
Next Saturday the 25th of April, between 9.30am and to around 2.30pm, Steve Small G4HJE (Lt Cdr (SCC) Royal Naval Reserve) is hosting a book signing event at Baggins Book Store, 19, High St,?Rochester, Kent, ME1 1PY, phone 01634 811651.

Steve is the author of the recently published 'Fort Bridgewoods' book, which covers the history of this fort located just outside of Rochester, along with its role as a Y station during WWII. An invitation is extended to any radio amateur who would like to attend the book signing, to hear from and speak with the author next Saturday the 25th of April.

If you are interested in reading more about Fort Bridgewoods,?then some copies of the book will be available at the signing, and are also available?via the RSGB shop.

4m Band Extension
Ofcom have agreed the use of 70.5 MHz to 71.5 MHz by radio amateurs for digital experimentation. Use of these additional frequencies will be permitted only via a Special Research Permit.

Capel Battery Contest Group
The Capel Battery Contest Group (Maidstone YMCA ARS), are entering the May 144MHz?contest from Capel Battery, Capel-le-Ferne. The contest takes place over 24hrs on the 16/17th of May.?Anyone who is an RSGB member and interested in joining the group for this event are invited to contact the?club via Ian at g3trf@...?

The group is planning to also enter VHF NFD on the 4/5th of July also from this location, further details via the above contact, and you only need to be a member of an affiliated club to operate with the contest group in NFD.

RSGB AGM
This years RSGB AGM is?taking place next Saturday the?25th April at 12 noon in the Royal National Hotel, 38-51 Bedford Way, Russell Square, London WC1H 0DG.
?
Doors will be open from 11am until 11.45am for registration and refreshments will be available. Lunch will be available from 1pm at a small charge. All business will be concluded by 4pm.
?
The proceedings will be recorded and made available on the RSGB website. Please preregister your attendance online at to help with calculating numbers.

EMC Volunteers.
The RSGB EMC group are very short of skilled volunteers to assist members via email and phone, and the EMC committee are asking for volunteers to help them in this work of tracking down and identifying interference.

This is another of the key areas where amateurs via the RSGB, may support each other and the hobby overall. If you are interested to volunteer or to know more then please email emc.chairman@...

The EMC team are happy to train volunteers?to use the equipment necessary, so they don’t have to come ready qualified.

RSGB Recruitment??
Recently letters were sent to around 32,000 licensed amateurs but who are non RSGB members', inviting them to join the Society.
?
The mailing has been done by a third party who produced the mailing list after removing details of those living at the same address as existing members, everyone known to be SK and those who have asked not to be mailed.

If you have received this invitation to join the RSGB I hope that you will seriously consider doing so. Subscription via Direct Debit may be annual or can be monthly from ?3.91, or paid quarterly at ?11.75. If you don't have a form, you can print one from

For the Society to remain strong it?needs members, and the monthly RadCom is a good way to keep in touch with goings on and developments in technology, as well as ideas for homebrew.

RSGB Social Media.
Many amateurs who are active on Twitter and Facebook, already know of the RSGB communications via these social media sites, but everyone who is signed up is asked to like/share/re-tweet the information that is sent out from RSGB HQ, so the information reaches as many people as possible.
