Hi folks
The Yuletide greetings net on xmas eve was unexpectedly quite well attended!? The following stations were qrv ( in no particular order) on about 7.160 mhz--, Mark G0GQT ( Medaway 5/9) , Colin G0UJK( swanley 5/9 plus), Peter G7ULL ( 4/3 Chislehurst, Frank G3WMR( 5/5 Joydens wood, Bexley), Paul M0HAL 5/7 Orpington), Chris G3MGS ( 3/1? Clifton Bristol), Martin GD4ZZN ( 2/1? in the IOM) and myself Lawrie G4FAA sidcup).? The two were former Clifton club members who picked up the Xmas net event from the g3ghn reflector? Thus? ?8 respondents - a result!
Fortunately Colin UJK ( mni tnx!) took up the net control when it became obvious my station was too weak to resolve the distant stations--.
The net traffic reminisced quite a bit including a few anecdotes from former days. Jacky G3JKY was mentioned by some and is clearly sorely missed Cliftonairs since he went SK.
Attempted to raise Tony G0HUZ and Suzanne on 20m and above after 1400 hrs in Dominica failed - my guess is they were bicycling ashore that day ( see reflector for his future sched? times ). Plan to try again after the New Year when they are back at sea en route to the UK again--
Sadly no sign of Steve M0BPQ ( family duties), Clive G3 PPO , KeithG4TJE ,? Martin G0DCG ( no kit?) , Bob G3DBW or John G3FNZ ( health?) but all bar fnz posted on the reflector before the net. Maybe next year folks ?? we are a dwindling band of bros these days! Temps fugit--
Best 73 ( and 88) to all for 2023 and onwards--
( revive CCC tony?)
