There was a review in the current QST of the Miracle Whip antenna for the
817. Has anyone tried this ? It seems like it would work pretty well.

Hi Tom,

Do you mean the article in the July issue? (Current issue is now
August.) The July article was not a review article, but an article
written by the developer of the Miracle Whip antenna. We are
awaiting reports by those that have purchased the antenna. Early
reports were that shipping was to start by early July, but no one has
posted that they have received it yet.

Has anyone received it yet?

I got an email a week or so ago saying mine would be shipped around
July 16th so it should be here soon. I think there were a deluge of
orders and not enough available parts and that slowed delivery down.

At the web page:



it shows that the first 4 production runs are sold out, and they are
taking orders for run #5 to ship on 23 August. Looks like the QST
article, plus the mentions on a variety of mailing lists, really got
them swamped with orders.
