Memory management software?
Hi, all! While surfing the web, I've found programs to manage the
memories in various transceivers. Besides performing the usual memory management functions (modify memory contents, clone them, save them to disk and the like), some can be used to read and write the data to a .csv file that can be manipulated by other programs. Does anyone know of such a program for the FT-817? I'd really love to be able to import and export my memory data to a spreadsheet! Thanks, and 73! Joe KB6WIJ |

really isn't designed to import/export memory frequencies. If you tale a look at Commander's memory files, they're in what I'd call "Native FT-817" format. Not very human readable, or intuitive as to what the actual frequency is. And there are other lines in the file that shouldn't be changed. Great program otherwise, but then as I said it wasn't designed to allow import/export of frequencies(no such function in the program). Maybe there'll be that option in Ham Radio Deluxe, the next generation of rig control program Simo's working on now. 72 de N8PVZ ---bernie Does anyone know of such a program for the FT-817? Many thanks to everyone!
It appears that FTBasic is the only program currently available that will import/export the FT-817's memory data to a "user-friendly" file format such as a .csv file. I'll have to research the "Yaesu- native" format of the file produced by FT-817 Commander and see if I can write a Perl script to translate it. If I learn of anything new and interesting, I'll post it. Thanks again! Joe KB6WIJ |

The ARDTS-817 Programming Software can be used to program the
memories as well as export a .csv file. It is avilable from RT Systems for a small fee. It also allows tab-delimited exports. It also allows you to toggle a few settings, but is not really suitable for 'real time' operation of the radio, as some other programs are capable of.
