Fiberglass Pole
Julio
Does anyone know if there are any differences between the MFJ pole and the and the one being sold by DK9SQ. I believe there is almost a $20 difference in price not including shipping, MFJ being the lower of the two. I meant to check this out while at Dayton since they were within 50 feet of each other in the main hall, but along with other thinks I forgot..

The gent who does Kanga Hands kits in the US also carries the pole. I don't know aboutI suspect that the joints in the DK9SQ might have been strengthened compared to the MFJ, but perhaps someone could confirm . . . 73, Barry N1EU |
I am not familiar with the MFJ unit, but the DK9SQ mast, which I own, has a

reinforcement ring at the ends of the larger diameter sections. The smaller diameter sections appear to be of uniform thickness, although tapered. These reinforcement rings also have a nice feature in that they fill the circumferential voids in the collapsed condition so the sections do not rattle around as much as they would otherwise. This is a well-executed mast and very convenient to work with. 73, Bill W4RK Nashville, TN USA ----- Original Message -----

I bought it from SYCOM in the UK about 18 months ago along with the single element QUAD that comes with it and it works FB. Now regarding its strength, the manufacturer claims that this pole is 3 times stronger than normal fiberglass fishing poles and indeed it looks very strong. Of course I have not tried its strentgh nor am I a fishing poles expert. I just know that it looks more robust than my other 6 meter poles I have for my SLVs, but maybe this is not a fair comparison because the DK9SQ pole is 10 meters long. 73 de Demetre SV1UY |

The DK9SQ is $99 + Shipping, The MFJ I think is about $79 + Shipping. The
difference in price was the reason for asking if there were any differences in the poles. It would appear from comments here that the DK9SQ version is somewhat better constructed and has a carring case. 73's Julio <tt> HOW MUUUUUUUUCHHHHHHHH?????????????????????????????????????????<BR> <BR> <BR> very frustrating to hear you all speak of how where ns when, but dollars<BR> boys, dollars????????<BR> <BR> David<BR> <BR> </tt> <br> <!-- |**|begin egp html banner|**| --> <table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2> <tr bgcolor=#FFFFCC> <td align=center><font size="-1" color=#003399><b>Yahoo! Website is: www.bright.net/~kanga/kanga/dk9sq.htm Europeans will find a link to DK9SQ homepage there. No other relations to Walter, DK9SQ then to be a real happy user since > 20 years. Yes, I am the man behind QRPproject, the QRP Internet shop, but I dont sell DK9SQ masts.
