Display Flashes

When turning rig on display flashes on and off. I turned rig off and
on several times and that time it fixed the problem. I have not had
this problem to occur now in several days. Rig is about 6 months old.

I use International Power Supply and no internal batteries. Power
supply is putting out 12.4 volts, I have the 12 volt one, and don't
believe the power supply was causing the problem.

I believe I read someone else had this problem, but I can't find the
message.

Any ideas what might be causing this or what to do if it happens
again? I would guess a processor reset might fix it if it happened
again. I can't find anything in the service manual or owners manual
that seems to address this problem.

Thanks,
Reed W4JZ

Reed,

I also have noticed the display flashing when the 817 is plugged into
external supply, I am running the rig from a SLA gel cell. It also takes
several attempts of switching the rig off and on before the problem
clears. I cannot find any reference in the manual as to what it means.

I look forward to any suggestions / explainations
