Aliexpress TCXO board...

Hello,
I was not looking for this specifically, but just found that Aliexpress has TCXO boards for the FT-817. I have no idea if they are any good. I also have never had an issue with the stock oscillator.

Hi Tobias.
If you intend to use your radio as a microwave transverter driver then I would recommend a tcxo. But for HF qso's you don't really need it.

Yes, the post was purely academic, in case someone needed one. As far as I understand the FT-818ND had a TXCO.

Even at that, the thing to be more concerned with is the reference for the microwave LO. At 10 GHz, a 0.1 Hz error in the 10 MHz reference multiplied up becomes roughly a 100 Hz error. As you go up in bands beyond that, it gets worse. Your error in the IF rig will likely be a lot less than that, even without a TCXO in the IF rig. That error is not multiplied up to 10 GHz.

Yes, the FT-818ND shipped from Yaesu with the TCXO installed.
