Digital input sensitivity

Hi all, a little help.
Is the digital input sensitivity always the same for all bands?
Or I can have a different input volume for a specific band (VHF, in my case).
?
Tnx in advance

I find that using?pkt on VHF/UHF has different sound levels than using DIGI on HF.? I haven't?found a difference in sound levels among the various HF bands.

What I would like to know is if there is a way to adjust a different audio sensitivity (in digi) for each band, possibly by adjusting that of the microphone.

I haven't?found it necessary to change audio levels between HF bands.? I have found it necessary to adjust audio levels between HD/DIGI and VHF/PKT

But your mileage may vary.

Yes, you can set different audio input levels between HF and VHF and modes for USB/LSB, and DIG/PKT.

However, the radio user interface design is 25 years old, and reflects an era where AX.25 pkt on VHF/UHF FM, and RTTY or PSK(maybe) on HF were king. The radio menu settings have actions that aren't obvious.

Best documentation I've seen is in the Files section of this group:

/g/ft817/files/FT-817%20computer%20interface%20notes.pdf

Lots there, going back 20+years

73, hope this helps,

The dig input level is the same for all band and is controlled by DIG MIC setting (menu #25).

I double checked with the internal memory map and it appear to have just one memory position for the each mic level by mode (ssb, am, fm, dig, pkt, pkt9600) so there's no way to have different level per band.

Agree with Marco. Variable levels per mode.
The original poster, Pietro, referred to VHF as a band, and I phrased my answer to basically say "It will do what you want it to do between HF and VHF"
Mode-based levels have come in handy for me on both my 817nd and my 897d. DIG level on HF ssb, PKT level on VHF/UHF pkt pkt9600 mostly.

Thanks to both. It answer my question.
