I didn't realise that they used a JIS standard hex screw. I managed to loosen then screw with the standard 1.5 and a little more pressure. I didn't have to use WD40 but that was going to be my back up

Hi Eddy, If I remember correctly, the Yaesu and most major Japanese radios use the JIS standard hex screws ( slight difference in size and taper angle). I've used the standard 1.5 on my 817ND and it
