FNB-72 *has* thermal protection
I just had a short, cordial email from Chip Margelli of Yaesu. The FNB-72 *DOES* have a thermal switch for over-temperature protection. He didn't mention over-current, so I still presume no

Re: ATX Antenna connector
Yup! And I didn't think I was being particularly hard on it. Just walking around in an open park (no trees, etc. to bash it against).

Re: ATX Antenna connector
Presumably the BNC spike broke because of flexing of the antenna used in a pedestrian mobile situation? I have never heard of one breaking in any other situation. I think the ATX should really have

Re: RTTY and the FT-817

Re: Do NiMH packs come with fuses?
That is why, as I posted probably 2+ months ago, I added a fused to the adapter I made from the RS pack to the rear connector of the 817. W6ZO

Re: ATX Antenna connector
The BNC "plug" is actually an RCA-female to BNC-male adapter. You can attach the antenna to the front panel of the rig, get a good grip on the rig with one hand, the antenna with the other, and

Hit SEND too soon. That sentence should have read: (I also discovered that 1700 mAH goes really fast when using a "constant carrier" mode like PSK31.)

Re: SW Rcv on the 817
