Julio, 3/8-24 is not PL-259.
3/8-24 is the standard thread used for the base of mobile whip antenna
mounts.
PL-259 is the plug that fits the standard antenna connector SO-239 on
the back of radios.
Some VHF and UHF antennas actually use the PL-259/SO-239 as a mount.
