Is there an adapter available anywhere that is bnc on one end and
threaded on the other? I have asked around and no one seems to know
of
one being manufactured ??? Jo
Jo, I don't think you'd want one even if you could find one. That
BNC spike will break right off. I think Bonnie is talking about an
ATX she got that had the 3/8-24 *instead* of a BNC or PL-259. I've
posted before that the BNC or PL connector on an ATX is really an RCA
(phono plug) to whatever adapter that's just pressed on. You could
make an RCA adapter to 3/8-24 with a piece of 3/8" round aluminum
threaded on one end & with a hole of the appropriate diameter in the
other for the RCA male plug. It can be tough to get the hole exactly
vertical when drilling into the end of a piece of round stock, 'tho.
And it would probably be stronger to drill the hole a *TINY* bit
smaller than the RCA male. In fact, it'd be even better to drill it
a decent chunk smaller, and cut a vertical slot into the end. You'd
have to use a saw with a very small kerf, though.
