The ATX Walkabout may be available in the U.S.
Well, there are some advantages to living within 20 minutes
of AES Cleveland. Here's what I heard from them:
Two weeks ago:
They had ordered some from W&S to sell here, and were
waiting for that order to arrive.
Last week:
They told me that MFJ had worked an exclusive to sell them
in the U.S. They thought they might still get their order
from W&S but weren't sure.
Today:
They had the MFJ-packaged ATX with BNC connector hanging
on the wall. Not sure if they'll get the PL-259 or
3/8"-24tpi models.
My personal guess is that you'll see MFJ hyping them in QST,
CQ, etc., by September, maybe earlier if they can turn the
advertising around that fast.
I'm also guessing you'll pay a bit more than UK (pound symbol)
69.99 minus VAT plus shipping. [Mine came to less than $110
(USD) when I ordered direct from www.wsplc.com and it showed
up in less than a week.]
Yes, I go to AES way too often. Imagine if I had bought
the house I looked at which was 3 BLOCKS away!
