1. Steel is stronger than brass; do everything you can to improve
your chances!
2. Steel is magnetic, brass isn't; maybe you can use a small magnet
to pull the spike out when it breaks.

If you DO decide to ignore everyone's advice about the BNC,
*please*
do yourself a favor & change it for a steel-spiked adapter. That
brass thing that came with the antenna is WORTHLESS.
Could you explain? I can't see what the problem is here.
