After an afternoon of FB operation on 6 m with the FT-817 I decide to
install the SSB filter. Since I was half way I decide to make the
extended TX mod.
I was using a "regular" soldering iron. After two attempts, the
first one did not work maybe because my poor soldering, I was able to
make the modification but whet I connect the antennas I notice I have
a very attenuated reception on all bands. I guess I put to much heat
on the jumpers.
This attenuation is when using USB, LSB, CW, AM. But not when using
FM, WFM or Packet in which the radio is receiving as usual.
One very strange thing is that if I am on 1.799 the reception in any
mode is fine but as soon as I go to 1.800 (160 meters)the RX is
immediately attenuated.
I have try the jumpers as several MODs mentioned, as well as infinite
number of resets but the reception is still attenuated.
Right now I have the original jumper setting.
Any ideas or suggestions?
