For that matter, I picked up a 5' Rohn roof-top tripod for ~$35 US
from a local dealer. You could bolt/affix 8' aluminum strips to
the metal feet and be at almost the same thing for cheap.
Granted, it's probably not as light as what the others are offering.
Not to mention that good ole Radio Shack also sells the tripods.
Might just be 3' though.
