Yup. Only I used 2 transistors, 2 resistors, a DB-9F, and a piece of
Cat5 network cable. I just stuck the appropriate wire into the
appropriate hole on the '817's ACC port. Fits (with lots!! of room
to spare) on a 1"x2" piece of perfboard. Someday, I will get around
to putting it in a box. I'm sure using surface mount components (or
maybe just neater construction technique!) you could fit it all in a
DB-9 hood.

I just bought a Macintosh "Mac to dataswitch" cable which is an 8-
wire straight through cable with 8-pin mini-DIN male connectors on
each end & am going to replace the Cat5 cable with 1/2 of this one.
