I ordered my '817 a few weeks ago and I am still waiting like a kid on Xmas eve...
When I asked the swedish dealer about possible delivery date, the answer was
"we don't know..."... Sweden's priority seems to be between zero and nil at Yaesu :~(
Anyway, I just realised that the european model of FT-817 does NOT cover
108-136MHz!? Too bad... I was really looking forward to listen to the air band...
(It's legal to listen to any band here in Sweden.)
Perhaps it's only a "solder ball" issue? Has anyone compared the solder ball
configuration of US/European/Japanese versions?
I'm not interested in extended TX coverage, I just want the air band RX.
