FWIW, I got around to opening the FT-817 I purchased at Dayton
(shipped to my home) today and noted two things.
First, the ferrite bead is now part of the accessories.
Second, the 7240 kHz birdie is even louder than on my old 817.
My first 817 is from Lot 03 (first group into the US) and the new one
is from Lot 21.
