Hi Larry,
I have a "Clear Speech Base" unit.
Reviews at:

It basically plugs into the speaker socket on your radio.
Then you connect an external speaker to it.
It really gets rid of noise and heterodynes.
It is now surplus to my requirements.
My other new XYZ(it isn't a Yaesu) radio includes ADSP.

After initial investigation it maybe possible to fit it in the space
where the battery tray fits. Then rewire the speaker audio wires.
