Then there's the BLT antenna kit from NorCal QRP club which I have right now
(but not built), which is exclusively for balanced lines. The Kanga kit can
be used for balanced or coax or end-fed wire.
There's a mod for the BLT for use with unbalanced feeds, but it's
basically a ZMatch and therefore works really well for balanced lines
as well. The limitation is that it probably only works well on
40-10M. But for those bands it'd be hard to beat for size, weight and
price. The Emtech ZM2 is also a Zmatch, with a wider range.
It's easier to use a Zmatch for an unbalalanced antenna, then to use a
single-ended design for balanced, and balanced antennasare, IMHO, good
for portable work because it's less dependent on the quality of the
ground.
