Hi had a bit of time to have a bit more of a look at the cct.
1) whats the 2m intermod like. It looks like it would be worse then the
VX-5. as there is no special 2m band pass filter. Either that or 2m is
excellent but out of bad RX completely shot!
2) looks like NiCd pack is detected automatically and trickle charged at
about 12mA or if you use your own cells you can manually select charge from
the menu (or I supose fast charge the NiCd pack) at 120mA.
3) looks like the unit is Linear or antenna tuner compatible as the
CAT/LINEAR plug on the back has a line that goes low on TX, a TX tune line
and Band Data as well as 13.8 current limitted (10 Ohm res) and the
programing serial lines TX/RX.
4) there is no data line from the mike so they are using a generic DTMF
chip in the Mic to generate DTMF tones. With only the 3 user programable
buttons available for controlling the radio. That is unless of course the
radio decodes the DTMF tones to operate certain functions which is possible
I supose.
