I have a few questions about the new FT-817.
1. What is the specification for frequency stability for the standard
reference oscillator?
2. Is the optional high stability oscillator a "plug-in" change or does it
involve screwing around doing some soldering?
3. I saw one large slot for a plug in filter. Is there only an option for
one additional filter or two, one for SSB and anther for CW?
4. Does it look like there maybe room to install one of the Inrad high
performance crystal filters inside?
5. Is there a line on one of the jacks on the back which can be used for an
external amplifier keying line?
6. Is there a headset/boom-mic which can be used with this rig?
7. Can NiMH batteries be used in place of the NiCAD battery pack?
8. Any known TX/RX mods? If so does it screw up any of the automatic options
such as auto repeater shift etc. like on the 847?
9. Is there a "hidden" alignment menu, like the 847 has, which lets TX
power, RX gain etc. settings be changed?
