CHIRP is not specifically designed to work with Yaesu's somewhat unusual software. It can be massaged to work, but it can brick the radio

Yaesu has said they will not repair radios damaged by using Chirp.

Yaesu has repeatedly advised against programming their radios with Chirp. They caution that there is a history of Yaesu radios being bricked by Chirp. Yaesu has also said they won't repair radios under warranty that are damaged by Chirp.
