Do you mean the FT817? Not 718? Sometimes you just have to spend the money. I would stay away from the Windcamp adaptors. For one thing, I bought one and the plug into the radio didn't fit properly (too long). For another, I have an SMA connector on the rear of mine for an output to an SDR dongle for a spectrum monitor.
