I like using the 817/818 base station and as such prefer a base mic. Since the MD-100 & MD-200 and newer, Yaesu base mics have a reversible cable for using on 8 pin round and RJ45 radio alike. Here's my latest box connected to the new M-90. As the RJ45 socket is not used as the 8 pin round is mic-side, it just goes into there.
