Please, please, PLEASE, stop sending multi-megabyte pictures as attachments.? Find some better place to put them, or reduce the resolution so that the? message takes up far less space.? When your message hit my inbox at 3AM, it caused all my email to stop because it filled my mailbox.? I lost multiple subscriptions due to bouncing email, and all the mail traffic from 3AM until 8AM, when I discovered the clot.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. Confirmed that the 1900 mAH battery pack is now standard for ft-817ND per Yaesu. It is supported by internal charger so convenient. A bit costly though.?
All parts ordered so perhaps by next week plus may have a sitrep on the repair job. Got the right service manual in hand.?

some answers for you.
1) no, you just solder it. There is no update to show there is a new part.?
2) use a service manual to make sure all the functions are working. There are procedures for checking TX and RX but you will need access to test equipment.
3) I don’t know if there is a firmware update available put it’s probably not user serviceable, and you’ll probably have to send it in.
4) I don’t know if the part number of the battery case has been replaced but is Beatriz Veralde at Yaesu USA told you that’s what you need she is probably right.?
5) I am ordering the same thing. It’s on backorder so if I get it before you I will reply again. But don’t throw anything away just yet.?
6) for paint, probably a matte color, clean the case really well, I’m not sure what to do with the info sticker but keep it safe with masking take or something. To prevent unevenness you should remove all the old paint that you can. Use a primer before the final coat. Use instructions for doing automotive paint to get a food surface, including wet sanding between coats it may help get a good looking end product.?
