Hello F.O.G.,
I went to raise the blade on my K700S machine, which is not even two years old yet, and the quick motion switch isn’t working. ?Has anyone with this machine setup had this go bad on them? ?I can raise the blade using the Slow motion push button only. ?Once raised, it will not lower down either. ?There’s not a lot of hours on this machine yet either, what a bummer! ?
I’m not sure what would be involved in the fix for something like this?
Thx,
Wade

Wade,
It could be a bad transformer or a loose connection. The transformer has taps for 2 voltages, ~10 and 30 volts. Looks like you have lost the higher voltage to the motor. There is also a bridge rectifier but that must be working for the low speed to work. The barrel selector switch behind the speed knob switches the voltage.

Imran?
I’m assuming to access the back side of this switch bank, I need to remove the panel on the opposite side of the chassis? ?Or maybe the front panel control panel is removed? Just not familiar enough yet with these machines. ?
Thx,

Wade,
On my machine, it is accessed by removing the cover on the back side. In my case, this is on the extended part of the chassis.

This sounds like a blown fuse to me. ?I have had this issue on both my K975 and my Profil 45, and in both cases, it turned out to be a blown low-voltage fuse. ?You will find the fuse adjacent to the transformers that provide the 24VAC in the main electrical cabinet. ? They are an odd-size tubular type of fuse. ?Here is a photo of a typical transformer with arrows pointing to the fusees. ?Grab the black cap and twist, the cap will come off with the fuse.
You can test the fuse with a continuity tester or volt meter.

David,
Few schematics I have seen show fuse on the primary side and would disable all transformer outputs. In Wade’s case he still has low speed working, therefore my earlier response.

On my machines, the low and high speed are driven by different fused taps off the transformer.
