F700Z fence plate alignment issue
Has anyone here ever experienced fence plate alignment issues on their f700 series shaper? I’ve had an F700z shaper in the shop since August 22’. It appears that the outboard fence tapers in to the center making for a fence plate surface that’s not coplanar. Upon closer inspection today I noticed that the plate has a bit of play when tight. I’m able to flex the inside edge of the outboard fence out to be in line with the inboard fence. Is there an adjustment screw for the tightening mechanism that would sort this out or is my fence casting defective?? |
Hi Dan,
I have noticed this too on the 230 fence of my CF741. When i do, i pull both fences off and clean everything with a blast of air and a bit of a wipe and it tends to end up spot on again. Hopefully this will solve your issue, otherwise it sounds like a bit of an issue, since i don't believe there is any adjustment.
Regards,
Bryce

开云体育Unfortunately an aigner fence is just not in the budget at this point. I’d rather upgrade the machine to a format 4 shaper than invest more into this model.? On Apr 1, 2025, at 8:48?PM, Karl via groups.io <bombamanwa@...> wrote:

开云体育Bryce, it almost seems as if the attachment mechanism doesn’t retract enough to pull it tight or the surfaces were not machined properly. Could Also be a defective fence plate. I’m putting in a service ticket later, will see what they say.? On Apr 1, 2025, at 1:47?PM, Bryce Comer via groups.io <bryce@...> wrote:

HI Dan,
That was what i thought initially but when i check it with a straight edge, the castings were machined spot on. It does end up spot on though after a good clean up, it's just that sometimes it catches me out when i start to run something and then notice it. That first piece is normally a test piece anyway, so not an issue.

Bryce

开云体育Yes that’s the Extrema rail-master coping sled. I love it to bits, makes coping a breeze. One cool feature it has is an air cushion in the base when you flick the air clamp on. This helps it glide smoothly on the surface. It’s better suited for a cast iron surface, I used some uhmw tape on the bottom of mine to prevent the aluminum slider portion from getting scratched up. If you’d like I can show a better video of it tomorrow?? On Apr 2, 2025, at 9:44?AM, KRPatel via groups.io <kamalsonal@...> wrote:
