#rfp - Random Friday Photo - April 8, 2022 #rfp

Since my first?DIY set of pneumatic clamps, I have been looking for novel ways to use air clamping everywhere I can. This idea is for a small, modular clamp that could be mounted onto a slider/MFT/MFT-equiv to allow for air assisted clamping. I know, I know you could do it manually with lots of different options and I have those options *but* there's something neat about pushing a button and having the clamping done for you :). The way my shop is setup, I have access to all the lines for the main set of clamps so, I just reuse all the switching components there; it's just a matter of running a couple of extension coiled airlines to get it to my work surface.?

This is a 50mm stroke actuator, really designed to hold workpieces less than 2" thick:

Here it is next to it's bigger sister, Heidi which has a 100mm stroke. I haven't named her little sister yet, German names needed!?

Attaches with 1/4-20 inserts to my DIY MFT-esque top, which I have on a FAT 300?

Here's another angle of the small clamp:?

What are you working on this Friday??

Sangluu,

Nice job. I feel the same way but lack the machining capability. Anyways, Helga is a solid german name, albeit, ubiquitous.

Jim,

Is it possible that there may be a slight difference in orthography for your dog and that it may in fact be Grrreta? ?
