Sharpening tablesaw blades

I have saved several Felder Universal blades over the last few years with the intent to have them sharpened. ?I have never accomplished this task. ?What service are others using? ?If you so your own sharpening what system are you using? Have you been happy with the results??

Thanks in Advance

Where are you located. John Kee turned me to Leitz, I am sure they have multiple locations but Grand Rapids was the nearish to me (I am in Indiana). There is another place highly recommended here on FOG located in St. Louis.

I have a local place that does a pretty good job and is very inexpensive. Like 15$ for a simple sharpening and 8$ to replace a tooth. Might have to look around a bit, there might be somewhere close to you.?

Not sure I agree with Tenryu being disposable from either economical or environmental perspectives. Tenryu is fairly inexpensive but the carbide is pretty thick and can be resharpened several times for even better value.?

I agree with Micheal.??

I used to have Leitz sharpened my blade, excellent service and price. CAD 15$ for 48 teeth Felder blade. Leitz guy told me the Felder blade can be sharpened about 10 times.

Now I go to Royce-Ary Cutting Tools, I have had Felder and Festool Kapex blades sharpened, excellent too, cause Leitz closed the branch in my area.

I would not throw away the carbide blade without sharpening for sure, too luxury for me :)

considering environmental impact i have spent more or same money as replacement to continue to reuse. replacing most of the metal frame on my trailer was one such an exercise.

I wonder if a place like Goodwill will take saw blades that have life left. Granted 30mm european bore is not common.

How many blades do you have? I really need to add a 300mm to my arsenal. I only have two 350mm from the original owner of my machine. I love the cut capacity, but its annoying you cant?drop the blade below the table when you go to?use the shaper. Same for joinery cuts, the blade cant go down less than 3/8"+/- above the table.?

Depending on where you are in the world, I think Dynamic Saw in Buffalo does nice work. If you have 6+ blades, you might want to sell some and have the rest re-sharpened. As a hobbyist, I cant?imagine needing so many redundant tooth configuration blades. I send my stuff out about once a year, and typically just before i go on vacation. Within a week or two, i have the fresh blades back and i never missed them while i was away.?

We send our blades out to W.D. Quinn Saw in St. Louis. They are a blade manufacturer also. Their process is highly automated and does a great job. They are in the Speedee Delivery area for us so it's easy.

I have used several services until I tried Leitz. Far and above all others. I have never had blades this sharp. Even sent a new Felder silent power and it was improved after sharpening. ?

Does anyone know of a good sharpening service for carbide tipped band saw blades?

I would also recommend Quinn Saw Company. ?They’re a 5th generation family company and have great customer service and stay up on the latest technology.

I have great experiences with Quinn as well.? They sharpened a wide variety of blades for me from Lamello blades to Festool blades with variable spacing to my Forrest, Felder and Morse metal blades, even replacing a couple of teeth.? Super friendly if you have questions, fast turnaround and good pricing.? I am certainly going to send them my Tenryu once it needs sharpening.?

Another vote for Quinn. Nice people, fast turnaround, competitive price. Sharpest my blades have been. They also made a 1/4" FTB in 8" for me, lots of carbide, really thick plate, built like a tank. If nothing else, the videos on their website showing their process are worth watching.
