Basic spindle moulder usage question
I'm using a BF6 but this question is aimed at those who are more proficient than me at using spindle moulders in general (that's most people here, I suspect) rather than a specific machine model. I'm

Re: Buying a used machine without seeing in person
Here is a decent example for the OP to consider. I nearly considered going through the hoops of buying this machine below, simply because the deal is good enough. I dont need a freestanding shaper. I

Re: Buying a used machine without seeing in person
I bought my second machine used - it was lightly used and needed some adjustments but no issues. I actually just rented a hydraulic lift trailer and used a pallet jack to load and unload. No drama -

Re: Buying a used machine without seeing in person
I purchased an F700Z shaper from a fellow here on the FOG. He sent photos and we facetimed to discuss and look over the machine. That took away a lot of the worries. He was able to build a crate for

Re: Buying a used machine without seeing in person
I only had one bad experience buying sight unseen and that was a IRS auction. Recovered from it though. Mostly good experience from private sellers. New or use I only ship one way truck. Costs more

Re: Buying a used machine without seeing in person
I bought a lovely sliding saw/shaper from a gentleman in this group. We did a facetime where he walked me through the saw, answered all manner of questions, and showed it running. In terms of moving

Re: Buying a used machine without seeing in person
I've bought many (most of my machines actually) used and remotely. It is indeed a gamble, but I beleive worth it if you are careful (luck plays a part...). Like David K. says, you want to have enough
