Re: Parts list for Jointer guard arm

Hi Lucky,

What you shared looks like my booklet but it does not include the arm to which the guard is mounted. The guard itself is included on a separate page. Kind of strange to not include this.

My book for Dual 51 does not include the parts list for the spring loaded arm that has the cutterhead guard. See pic below:

There is a bracket (has been removed in above pic) that mounts under the elevation knob and I would like to have the typical assembly drawing and part numbers if anyone has them.

Thanks,

I should mention that if you do try to use my method, make sure the slider locking lever is not engaged!

Re: In Need of New Tires for F38

Hi Ron,

If you tried to scuff by hand you may not have removed enough material. You literally have to remove the outer layer of material. When I did it before having them recovered, I glued the multiple sandpapers slightly wider than the wheels on a board. The sandpaper strip was long enough to cover length of 4 wheels, well in my case. I clamped the board to the table/slider and lowered the running PF onto the sandpaper. You should see some rubber coming off. With new surface the grip will improve but best long term solution is to get them recovered with polyurethane.

Get a snap ring plier set with different sizes of tips. Not expensive and available at places like Home Depot, and really handy to have around.

I have several snap ring pliers.? ?The issue for me is that it isn't a snap ring.? ?It completely surrounds the pin and has six spring steel tabs that hold it in place.? ?When I've removed these in the past from motor shafts,? I've damaged them.?
