Re: Placement of a Support Brace
fwiw, I didn't say the weight was uniform, just "continuous", though I drew it uniform.? ?But the difference between uniform and continuous is moot.? I was just trying to make the point that for

Capacitor Update
Well, it took about 90 minutes and a few phone calls but I did get the capacitors changed out on my Phase Perfect 20hp converter. I went forward with the change out because Martin Woodworking was

Re: Placement of a Support Brace
Thanks Mark. The weight of the rail is uniform but the opposite to the hinge stile weight is at the end of the rail, correct. Isn¡¯t glue flexible to some extent? So my thought was that a pin will

Re: Placement of a Support Brace
Imran, Sorry, I shouldn't have said "loose tenon".? I meant not-glued.? ?My question was are you planning to glue the mortise and tenons, or not glue.? If you're gluing, then pins (or cross bolts)

Re: Further C3 31 electrical problems
Thank you Scott & Imran, I know as much about electricity as Fred Flintstone so all information is a great help. My thoughts are that as the brake board is definitely stuffed, then start there and

Re: Further C3 31 electrical problems
Trevor, Is there a current sense/limit function in your machine? My KF700 has one but cannot recall if it is part of relay or a separate device. I remember it being same size as the relays used by

Re: Further C3 31 electrical problems
When I had my C3-31, it stopped working completely, and it ended up being the braking board.? I ordered the board directly from the manufacturer Klinger & Born in Germany for around 41 Euros plus

Re: Placement of a Support Brace
Mark, When I mentioned pining, I meant a dowel/peg through the stile into the tenon. My plan has been to build with floating tenons but I could make actual tenons as well. I understand and agree with

Further C3 31 electrical problems
I recently posted about my C3-31 stopping during sawing. It turned out that it wasn't capacitors as first thought, but a problem at the electrical distribution board. The machine has been running fine

Re: Placement of a Support Brace
Discussion of pins confuses me.? Imran, can you please clarify -- are you planning loose (unglued) mortise and tenon joints, or glued joints?

Imran, The purely written descriptions a little hard to follow clearly.? I think this is what you mean: Below pic shows crushing in a failed tenon.? I'm not sure what your concern about crushing

Re: Placement of a Supporto Bracer
I personally think poly iso insulation is a waste. loss of structure and little insulation gain. I used to manufacture doors in 70¡¯s and made poly iso panels they worked fine but gain wasn't worth

Mac, Cross dowels, similar to doweling a bread board end on a table? Pin through the stile and the tenon of the rail? Jonathan, The plan, at this point, is to laminate the inner and outer 1/2¡± birch

Re: Placement of a Support Brace
Could you sneak in a full panel of plywood.? It might be stronger than a single stick.? 1/4" thick could even work if it was kept from bulging by the outer layers of the door panels.? Or, replace

More like email notification. I don¡¯t recall if I ever signed up but likely happened when I inquired about a saw he had many yrs ago. He said he routinely ships to USA. Check the voltage to be sure
