Tim Ruth, I didn¡¯t anticipate the woodchuck (as I remember them as) Bees ? eating the lumber outside but covered on racks, I was more concerned about termites and vermin. Those bees are scary

Bryce, My experience with homemade gas strut is similar. I have vario4 which is pretty heavy. I don¡¯t have video of lifting but I can start the lift with one finger. I do have a video of taking it

Ok, so here is a pic of the brake board. It should allow some adjustment, see picture, should be P1-Time to stop ?P2-Torque to stop faster. It is a fine balance, the board can wear out over time

As you get older flipping the feeder up is more of a chore. I use a nylon strap around the feeder and a small chain hoist to raise or lower it, no risk of an injury to myself or the feeder. Regards,
