Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Thanks Tom. I went to the link but it is not clear how this table is attached to the main table. Do you know? Imran Malik https://www.facebook.com/groups/362481112015700/?ref=share

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Thanks Nate. But if one can avoid this it is preferred. More concerning would be when one forgets and ends up ruining a workpiece that has already much milling time in it. Imran Malik

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Hi Imran, Due to the short cross cut squaring issues already covered earlier, I configured my Profil 45Z with an outrigger, since the outrigger is easily squared and is very repeatable. That being

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Imran, I saw a video from David Lucky that uses a dial indicator to square the fence. It looks relatively easy to dial the fence.

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
In light of this discussion, what people do on shapers with XRoll? This is something, I may pickup in future. I have been looking for one with outrigger but that does not seem to be common. Also

David, those links are very informative, thanks.? As someone who doesn't currently own a Felder slider, but is just thinking of buying one, looking at what you had to do fills me with a certain

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
About 8 years ago, my shop got significantly smaller, when I shoehorned in my CNC mill into a spot where it barely fit. Specifically, it made it very difficult to use the long crosscut fence: I really

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Chris, The reason I stopped making the short crosscut fence upgrade kits is because of the tight tolerances required for the kit to actually correct for the Felder design flaw and all the back and

Thanks David, beautiful work. My short crosscut fence is always going on and off my k700 and i¡¯m tired of having to fine tune it for square each time. I also notice that the fence gets pulled

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
My understanding is that the profile of the Felder slider is different from that on my Hammer machine. Is there something different on the Felder machines that poses a challenge with repeatedly

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
Some of the comments about the short fence have tweaked my curiosity. Back when I ordered my Hammer B3, I added a 1300mm cross-cut fence, along with the 90 degree stop (I chose the model developed by

Re: sliding table saw: parallel fence vs 2nd crosscut fence? #k700s
I bought the short cross cut fence with my saw because it seemed more in line with the way I used a cabinet saw. Once I found out how hard it is to get it square and keep it square I set it aside.

Thanks, that's very helpful!? I hadn't realized the short crosscut fence couldn't be slid back and forth on the table.? Add in that it may be a struggle to keep it at 90 degrees, and I may forego

I've probably killed the hardening, but it should last me a lifetime anyway. Now the bearings are lubricated and the tiny little noise I could hear from them is gone now. And those of you who thought
