P.S. WD40 is also somewhat solvent borne, it will work great immediately, as soon as it dries up a bit you will have a sticky mess with lots of residue.

Both Slick 50 and WD40 are penetrating oil lubricants.? The LPS 1 is considered a "dry lubricant" / water displacement element.? I think the LPS 1 would be good to treat surfaces that are exposed,
