The only time the platen gets removed here is for hogging off with a 60 grit belt. There's a 100 or 120 grit belt on the machine 95% of the time. I haven't measured the thickness difference between

Tim, To be sure of a parallel cut, I always set the front (fritz) to the measurement and then slide Franz up to Fritz and use a straight scrap piece to align Franz with Fritz.? ?I only really use
