When I had the k700 the first pic is how i did it. The second is the k940 and you can see i just leave the left open, The only time its an issue is short thin strips drop in but the don¡¯t go flying.

I¡¯ve seen Ramon¡¯s inserts, they look great! I like what he does by routing out the bottom to allow for a thicker insert. However, I chose to go with a simpler approach for now. Here¡¯s a few more

I cheated...I used my CNC router :). Happy to share the DXF if anyone wants it. Forgot to note that I used standard wood 1/4-20" inserts for the handle screws.
