Re: Bandsaws: Felder vs ACM
740 is a great size. Large table and ability to resaw easily. There has been a used Felder ( ACM ) for sale recently. Dave ________________________________ Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2020 5:25 PM

Re: Bandsaws: Felder vs ACM
Brian, Thanks for the great side-by-side comparison. I¡¯m leaning on going with Felder. All of my other big machines will be Felder (also planning on ordering a K740, AD951 & F700Z, plus dust

Re: Bandsaws: Felder vs ACM
The 600 is ACM's Star series which is lighter than their "40" series. Only relevant if resawing a lot. Dave ________________________________ Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2020 5:08 PM To: Gerald

Re: Bandsaws: Felder vs ACM
I own a Felder FB510 and an ACM Star 600. I spent years trying to find a good used Italian Bandsaw and gave up and bought the FB510.new The FB510 is a great bandsaw - with a couple of minor

Hammer C3 31 - Setup Issues - Planer Snipe and Board Kick
#jpsetup

I ordered my C3 31 on 12/29/2019; received it on 1/24/2020.? I've been trying my level best to set it up and have not been able to get the *thicknessing* planer to stop kicking and/or sniping

Re: Bandsaws: Felder vs ACM
FB saws are not sourced from ACM. The Felder 740 industrial line is ACM. Dave ________________________________ Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2020 3:35 PM To: Felder Owners Group

Bandsaws: Felder vs ACM
Someone recently made a comment that the Felder FBs were/are rebranded ACMs but not as good as the bandsaws directly from ACM. So now I¡¯m looking at the BS 740 and even the Summa 740 2¡± but have

Re: FB610 bandsaw blade position on the wheels: in the middle or near the edge?
Humm, been a while since I took mechanics and am in software development now so go figure. Wouldn¡¯t the definition below of strong be that it is strong and stiff and not just strong? Regards, Mark

Re: FB610 bandsaw blade position on the wheels: in the middle or near the edge?
In material science, generally: Stiff ¡ª resists deformation Strong ¡ª resists both deformation and failure But I suspect everyone knows what "strong" meant in the context of a bandsaw.

Hi Sang, Great, I am sure you will come up with a great plan.? Could using the ceiling as the support surface simplify the mounting issue?? I believe some have shown concepts that appear workable.

Re: FB610 bandsaw blade position on the wheels: in the middle or near the edge?
Oops, hit send... Strong would be more like how much it can bend before it will yield but stiffness is more like how much it will resist yielding/deformation to a load. Regards, Mark

I think it¡¯s stiffness we are looking for here. Regards, Mark

Re: FB610 bandsaw blade position on the wheels: in the middle or near the edge?
Strong is easy, it's strong and cheap that's harder ;-) The crown on my FB610 wheel works out to about 7" radius.

Re: segmented pressure beam for AD 951?
?Felder offers segmented infeed rollers on some models. I do not have my Dual51 manual so I cannot look up the spec (not sure if it exists) but I can feed boards with slight variation in thickness

Re: FB610 bandsaw blade position on the wheels: in the middle or near the edge?
Well I would think it's a pretty good connection considering the upper end bandsaws were and maybe still are Italian. It would be nothing for? company like Felder to dissect one. Most of the parts in

OK, though the last poster said European saws, including Felder, have flat wheels.? I guess he's just mistaken.
