Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Rick, One more observation and this is the most consistent. If I start the 3 hp 3 ph Oneida central vac before starting the 7.5 hp 3 ph bandsaw, it works every time. Thanks again, Joel

Dust Poll
Scott, I didn't quite know where my dust collector vote should go in your poll. I use a 2HP, 2-stage collector made by Dust Boy. It falls somewhere between single stage and cyclone according to Sandor

Re: Getting my BF6-31 through the door
Vince- Congratulations for joining the FELDER team! Regarding the tipping of your machine, you definately want to slide off the top section of your sliding table. Also remove the plastic saw dust-port

ADDS ???? and more!!!!
I was very surprised to see message 482 was an Ad. I thought that Felder had picked up the ticket so we would not have to deal with the banner Ads that we now see on every screen. Have I per chance

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Rick, I think it is the 1800 rpm motor. The motor is set for the "Delta" setting and that corresponds to the 230 volt indicator or the motor plate. The Star setting is for the 480 volt setting. I have

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Joel: One more question - was the 7.5hp motor, 1800 rpm, or was it a 3600 rpm? The connections are different depending on the speed of the motor. You will notice, as you take the cover off of the j

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Joel: Find the "junction box" on the motor itself. Where you connected the leads from the starter. If there is a cover, it should be on the inside. If not check the motor nameplate, there will be a

Rick, Good point but, I am not sure if it was wired for 480 or 230. How do I tell?? Where is the "peckerhead"? I mean the one on the motor. Joel

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Rick, It is 40 feet from the converter to the bandsaw and 90 feet from the main panel to the converter. Sometimes it does start up and run and a few times it tries to start and quits. When it does

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
John, I think it is the mass of trying to start the bandsaw with the 2- 24 inch wheels and tensioned blade. I agree that it would be fine on the jointer, planer, saw, shaper. Joel

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Joel: One more thought, did you have to change the motor leads from 480v to 230v? If a new motor, it probably came from the factory prewired for 480v. Here you simply change the connections in the

Re: 5.5 hp Kay phase converter
Hi Joel: I picked up on John's memo, but I must have missed part of the dialog. I did get that you picked up a 7.5hp motor, and then I saw where you were trying to run it with a 5.5hp phase converter.
