Saw Blade noise
I agree that the 12" blades are noisy - my optical tachometer indicates a saw blade speed of 4750 RPM on my KF-7. For a 12" blade that's about 170 MPH! I don't think Unisaws and other cabinet

I just uploaded to the vault in the tech articles section, a diagram showing the proper boring and pinhole spacing for sawblades that go on the Felder machines. This diagram was provided to me when I

Re: Blade Noise, with Audio!
Hello Geoff, Great recording, thought I was in my shop! The saw sounds the same as my Felder and other commercial saws I've heard. One thing I have noticed about having a small 200 sq. ft. shop is

Try this, the problem is that the htm has an l after it, should be - html - the line break put the l on the next line - so it is not part of the line. http://www.theleadedge.com/ this will work -

...Ballew Saw and Tool, 1-800 CUT-RITE, has been a great source for tooling and consumables - all kinds of shaper cutters, Mirka sandpaper, some machinery - good prices, super service. No affiliation

Re: Shaper cutters
Thanks for the tip on the Freud groovers, Art. I have been perusing a Freud catalog and have had my eye on those groovers, especially the 1/4 & 3/8" x 6" OD or the 8" OD. I have checked "Abbey Tool"

The kerf is 1/16 of an inch - I checked it with a caliper, it it exactly 1/16. Cuts great!

Re: blade noise, motor speed,hz and amps
Joe, for cutting panels with the 100mm scoring blade I'm limited to a ten inch blade. I switch regularly between the rebored Forrests which are 10inch and the 300 and 315 blades I have from Felder.

Re: blade noise, motor speed,hz and amps
John, Are you running a 10" or 12" blade on your machine? I would imagine that the dB levels specified by Felder for noise levels are measured with the 10" (250 mm?)blades. Joe "john renzetti"

Geoff; Wow, 98dB is loud -- maybe loud enough to get a visit from OSHA or the FAA. I think a jet at full-throttle is just a bit over 100 dB! Does the value change depending upon the position of

Wow...98dB is loud. I do not have a sound meter, but I can't imagine that the saw on my machine is 18 dB louder than the planer. If the sound meter computes dBA, perhaps the higher pitch of the air
