I don't have experience with this either, but wouldn't try it without a sliding fixture
-- for both cut consistency and safety. Set-ups vary widely so it may work for some
but not others.

Leo, Check that the cam locks are properly engaged. It is possible that
when you put the table down and locked the table that one of the cams didn't
seat properly and this will throw the table off
