When my profil 45z was being delivered, I was terrified of trusting a regular fork lift on my driveway that has a decent slope on 2 different planes.

I ended up renting a telehandler and it worked out really well. They excell at moving heavy stuff over rough terrain, so a sloped driveway is no problem. It also allowed me to park near the bottom of my driveway, tilted, and extend the boom arm and get the forks at the correct angle to go under the pallet without any issues.
?
That being said, I'm not sure if I want to make another big truck driver deal with navigating narrow suburban streets again, so I'll probably hire a rigging company next time.

My new saw is being delivered (fingers crossed) on Monday next week.? I have had machines delivered in every possible way but a rigging company:
For the saw I decided instead to use a roll back tow truck.? I have had a few vehicles towed from my home and they can shoot out the bed from the truck horizontally and based on my driveway and how it rises, I think it will make for almost a level unload.? I will use my pallet jack and rent another to get it from both ends to roll it off.? I am rounding up some help to have two more people there to help.? After sending pictures of my driveway/cul-de-sac, the machine company agreed this would be better.? Weight is not an issue, and it is a 50 mile ride from the warehouse to my house/shop.? There is the slider pallet and another pallet too, but the space on a roll back makes it easy to fit.? They charge $150 an hour from the time they leave til they get back, so this is going to save them money vs a normal truck delivery believe it or not.? People use these to transport large Snap-On tool chests and other machinery all the time locally.? When I called them they were totally familiar with doing it.

The challenge we had with a fork lift is the possibility that it could not make it up my driveway without renting one with pneumatic tires vs the standard hard rubber.? I assume this will be the heaviest machine I will own and getting it off the truck only to be stuck on the driveway would suck after having to pay to rent a forklift (which was not covered under the agreement we set up for delivery).?

Hi Stan, I also am mostly a solid wood user, with the occasional plywood or termite vomit (melamine) cabinet construction. The scoring saw is very useful with melamine and the occasional veneered plywood that refuses to play nicely.

I have a Hammer B3W with the 1250mm sliding table which allows the crosscutting of a 4 X 8 sheet of material. I have never wanted a longer slider, you always have to live with the slider regardless of what you're cutting.

I have the 800mm rip capacity with the full table, and an aftermarket overarm guard.
?
Normally the outrigger is not on my machine, it hangs on the wall and I use the crosscut fence on the sliding table for most work.
?
I have the mobility kit on mine, along with a stock feeder which I use on the saw and shaper.
?
I've owned mine for 15 years, it has had no failures or loss of calibration, I do PM on it once a year, use is around 5 to 10 hours per week.
?
I use the shaper a lot, prior to the B3W I had a General shaper with a 1 1/4" spindle, so I have a 1 1/4" and 30mm spindle on my B3W which allows me to use stock Felder cutters and my older cutters, as well as a couple of bobbin sanders on the 30mm spindle as well as saw blades and the dado set from the saw.

开云体育Aaron is correct, at least my policy, Liberty Mutual at that time, would not cover rented trailer or the contents. However for very little money I added that insurance twice now with LM. I could have added it for a day if I wanted. It covers the trailer and the contents.One time it was Uhaul open trailer and I picked up a riding mower from couple of hrs of driving distance. Second time it was my friends 20’ long trailer that I borrowed to pick up lumber from Wisconsin. I would never NOT get this rider. I didn’t had an issue pushing a pallet jack with a machine on it through the driveway slop.
The SCM FS7 (1271kg) required some pushing, but the pallet jack didn’t have issue with the weight. |

开云体育Is anyone taking into account the 14 degrees incline or decline (I missed that detail?) of the driveway... That’s very steep! I would not want to operate a forklift with a load this big and heavy. And a pallet jack will be difficult if not impossible
without some serious winching/rigging planning.?
In Australia we would use a “Franna”, or articulated mobile crane designed to take heavy loads without outriggers.
While freight/cranes are relatively expensive here, I'm surprised at the kind of prices you guys face in the USA. Basically your quotes in USD are about what I pay in AUD here in Brisbane Australia.?
Take away: I'd be worried about that 14 degrees. Keep us informed! And congrats on the purchase.

initially assumed it was the friction wheel and/or something to do with the rollers but have ruled this out. Inspected the wheel and the sound still happens with rollers disengaged.?
